Dear Diary,

Today I arrived home to find out that Nouna had organized a ball in honor of my return home. While the evening was pleasant and everyone was very kind welcoming me home, I still spent the whole time either worried about Nouna or confused as to why Romanos wanted to spend so much time with me. Maybe it was just the fact that his girlfriend was called away just before we sat down for the meal and he had nothing better to do than dance with me. Whatever the reason I found it all very disturbing.

On top of all this after everyone had left, Nouna had a fall and broke her hip. I’m sure there is a lot more going on with her and she is not telling either Romanos or me. It was very upsetting to see her in so much pain. The doctor has told us she should pull through but she will need to be in hospital for at least a week. Thank heavens I have not found employment yet for at least now I will be able to spend time at the hospital with her. Oh Lord, I pray that there is nothing too serious wrong with her.

Romanos has insisted on staying here at the house with me while Nouna is away, and may even stay after her return. I don’t know how I will manage having him so close all the time. I get this silly little flattering in my stomach every time he looks at me. I know that is just being selfish not wanting him here, after all I’m sure he would much rather be elsewhere, like with Diana. I hope she doesn’t come to stay. I don’t think she likes me very much and I would find it hard living with the nasty stares she gives me all the time.

For now, I’ll just concentrate on Nouna and helping her get back on her feet. I can’t help wondering if she had not had the silly ball for me she would not have fallen, I sure the long evening took a lot out of her and she is such a wonderful host. I’ll do my best to make it up to her.

For now goodnight, or should I say good morning.

Lucy
